Running Goals for 2013

1. 5K by 5th Virtual Run Series - I'm running/walking a 5K each month for 5 months.  This is a virtual run series created by a blogger named Laura who blogs at mommyrunfast.com. 

2.  I'm going to run/walk the Eugene Marathon in Eugene, Oregon on Sunday April 28th.  It was rated the best new marathon by Runner's World in the January 2013 magazine.  I wanted to run the Avenue of the Giants marathon in California.  Unfortunately, the logistics of the marathon were going to be a bit expensive and I called too late to get into a hotel close to the starting line.  The Eugene Marathon just makes more sense and is closer to home. 

3.  I'm going to run/walk the Seattle Rock-n-Roll Half Marathon on June 22nd. 

4.  I'm going to run/walk the Seattle Marathon on December 1st.

5.  I'm going to regularly attend Yoga classes twice a week.

Virtual 5K's

I signed up today for the Virtual Run series sponsored by Laura, the blogger aka mommyrunfast.com.  She sponsored a fun virtual 10 miler I did on Labor Day weekend.  This new Virtual Run is a series of 5K's done by the 5th of the Month, January through June.

Walking and Running

This week I've gotten a bit of my mojo back.  The Christmas light viewing season has started and I'm participating by walking through my neighborhood in Marysville with friends.  Wednesday evening I walked with Terri 3.54 miles.  Thursday evening, the same with Tracy. 

Yesterday I finally got the courage to jog again on my sprained foot/ankle.  I jogged on the treadmill!  Starting out slowly, I used a 2 minute jog/1 minute walk interval.  After a warm-up I worked up to jogging 5 mph/walking 3.6 mph for 2 miles.  The best part is my foot didn't bother me until after I took my shoe off.  Then it only was sore for a while.
